Freelance
Today this is the most popular choice amongst creatives, because of the high demands of qualifications, experience and duties that employers expect, and also because of the flexibility and technology which allow a worldwide reach for creatives.
Freelancing in the creative world means working independently rather than being employed by a single company. You need to be able to manage your own schedules and set your own rates.
It offers flexibility and creative freedom but also requires self-discipline, marketing skills, and the ability to handle business tasks like invoicing and client communication.
Remote
Remote work is also a popular choice because of the work-life balance it allows.
This is almost like freelance, but with set working hours (with some flexibility) and financial security of a monthly salary.
Creative professionals connect with clients or teams online, using digital tools to collaborate, share files, and complete projects. It allows for access to global work opportunities, but also requires discipline, strong self-motivation, clear communication, and reliable tech.
Hybrid
Working Hybrid means you work in the office and from home. It will depend on your employer how the work and home time will be divided. It can be part day, part week, or as needed. This option is perfect for those who love being around people and participating in teamwork, but only in small portions.
It combines the freedom of remote work with the collaboration and structure of in-person teamwork. This setup allows for face-to-face brainstorming sessions, client meetings, or access to specialized equipment, while still offering the flexibility to work from home or anywhere else when needed.
In-house (onsite)
Working In-house (onsite) means being employed by a company or agency and working from their physical office or studio. This is a preferred option for many because of the stability and security it offers.
Creative professionals collaborate closely with internal teams, attend meetings, and use on-site resources daily. This setup offers structure, consistent workflow, and direct communication.
Entrepreneur
Entrepreneur work involves building and running your own creative business. This allows for total creative freedom and potential for growth.
Creative entrepreneurs develop original products or services, manage their brand, handle clients, and make business decisions. It requires strong skills in marketing, finance, and leadership to succeed independently.
